Jewelry inspired by nature: Zion National Park Edition

Earth Day came early for us this year as we explored Zion National Park.

Zion is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring natural wonders in the United States. Located in southwestern Utah, the park offers visitors a unique combination of breathtaking scenery, diverse wildlife, and world-class outdoor activities. Among the park's many popular hikes, the Narrows stands out as a truly unforgettable experience. Zack and I just got back from Zion this past Sunday, after hiking the Narrows, and my heart is filled with awe and inspiration from that incredible place.

Our hike through the Narrows took us deep into the heart of Zion Canyon, where the Virgin River carved a narrow, winding path through towering sandstone cliffs. The hike is famous for its stunning scenery and challenging terrain making it a must-do for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

Our hike began at the Temple of Sinawava, where we followed a paved trail for about a mile before we reached the river. From there, the trail became the river itself, and we trekked through 4 feet of water, navigated rocky terrain and deep pools as we made our way upstream. The hike was challenging, and hikers should be prepared for cold water, slippery rocks, and the possibility of flash floods.

Despite the challenges, the Narrows hike was well worth the effort! The deeper we went up the river the more sense of awe and wonder I felt, for my body and for nature. Sunlight danced across the rippling water and illuminates the vibrant colors of the rock. Overall, the Narrows hike in Zion National Park is a truly unforgettable experience. The combination of stunning natural beauty, challenging terrain, and unique wildlife make it a must-do for any outdoor enthusiast visiting the park. Whether you are an experienced hiker or simply looking for a unique adventure, the Narrows is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who visits.

Jewelry inspired by organic forms and shapes

I believe inspired jewelry design incorporates organic forms and shapes. Rather than creating pieces that are strictly geometric or symmetrical, a jewelry design may feature irregular shapes found in nature, such as the twisted branches of a tree or the fluid curves of a river.

Overall, Zion really moved me. I love the incorporation of organic shapes and forms, which also reminded me of a women's body. I look forward to sharing the deeply meaningful next collection, inspired by Zion.
